White Dot Syndrome Survey

We are administering a survey study about white dot syndromes (WDS) to understand the insights of uveitis and retina specialists about these complex and varied entities.

We invite you to participate in this study by completing an online survey. It will take less than 10 minutes to complete. You can skip questions that you do not want to answer or stop the survey at any time. The survey is anonymous, ensuring that no one will be able to link your answers back to you. Please do not include your name or other information that could be used to identify you in the survey responses.

Please contact Jessica Shantha (Jessica.shantha@ucsf.edu) with questions about this study. This survey has been approved by the UCSF Institutional Review Board. If you have questions or concerns about your rights as a research participant, you can call the UCSF Institutional Review Board at 415-476-1814. Being in this study is optional.

If you want to participate, click https://ucsf.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9QxLr2r2IQc4Drg. We thank you for your participation and contribution. The survey will be open until April 1, 2024.

Rosario Brancato Retina Award

It is with my great pleasure that I announce that Rosario Brancato Retina Award has been established again this year and will be awarded during the 8th OCT & RETINA FORUM (Milan, 21st – 22nd March).

Our goal is to institute an award in the field of the retina to commemorate Professor Rosario Brancato, a person who dedicated his entire life to the treatment of patients affected by retinal diseases, contributing as a pioneer to the introduction of fluorescein angiography, OCT examinations and laser therapy.

The award will be recognized to a doctor (<45 yrs) who meets the requirements listed on the web site www.brancatoaward.eu

The DRCR Retina Network is planning an exciting new Phase III clinical trial to prevent visual acuity loss due to radiation retinopathy (RR). Eligible participants will be randomized to receive either repeated injections of anti-VEGF, long-active steroid, or observation following treatment of choroidal melanoma with I-125 plaque brachytherapy.

Any interested physicians or clinical sites should contact drcrnet@jaeb.org to learn more about joining the Network.
