Awards Committee Current Awards Committee Members Oversees the Society’s annual awards program by identifying and recommending award recipients, establishing award eligibility, and coordinating award presentations at the annual meeting to recognize outstanding contributions to the field.
By-Laws Committee Reviews and evaluates proposed amendments to the Society’s By-laws, ensuring governing documents remain current, effective, and aligned with the Society’s objectives and governance needs.
Credentials Committee Reviews membership applications and recommends qualified candidates for election to the Society. The committee oversees the membership selection process and evaluates applicants based on established membership criteria and member recommendations.
Education Endowment Leads fundraising efforts for the Macula Society Endowment Fund and oversees the allocation of endowment proceeds to support educational programs and initiatives, subject to approval by the Executive Committee.
Finance Committee Provides oversight of the Society’s financial assets, investment strategy, and fund allocation decisions, helping ensure the long-term financial health and stewardship of Society resources.
Meeting Planning Committee Coordinates the logistics of the Society’s annual scientific and business meeting, including selecting the date, time, and location and ensuring timely communication of meeting details to the membership.

Nominating Committee Identifies and nominates candidates for Society officer and committee chair positions, oversees the election slate, and ensures nominations are communicated to members prior to annual elections. Maintains an impartial process by prohibiting committee members from serving as officer candidates while on the committee.
Program Committee Plans and oversees the Society’s scientific meetings, symposia, and conferences, ensuring the development of high-quality educational and scientific programs that advance the Society’s mission and objectives.
Research Committee Reviews and oversees Society-sponsored research proposals, including collaborative studies conducted under the Society’s auspices. The committee evaluates submissions, selects recipients of Macula Society research grants, and helps advance the Society’s research mission while maintaining independence from funding decisions.
Web Site Committee Oversees the development and ongoing enhancement of the Macula Society website, working with web designers to ensure content, functionality, and future applications effectively support the Society’s mission and member needs.
International Representative Promotes the recruitment, engagement, and participation of international members while fostering collaboration and relationships between the Macula Society and other international organizations.
Young Member Representative Serves a two year term
AAO Representative Serves a three year term.
